It Takes a Village
At the end of the day, we’re not just a group of creatives — we’re a family. We work together, we play together, and we succeed together.
One of Kenna’s biggest accomplishments is a current project: updating signage for one of our client’s, City Electric Supply, at over 300 branches. From initial site survey, to working with group managers and approving final invoices, there are many steps involved and Kenna takes necessary steps to complete this extensive and ongoing project.
The most important lesson she learned from her mentor is to always be completely honest and transparent. It’s better to be upfront with what is happening. Someone will always appreciate honesty.
Her daily routine? When you swing by her desk, you will usually hear Kenna on the phone helping and directing our clients, you’ll also see a plethora of sticky notes and a Red Bull that gets her through the day.
Need some conversation starters? Kenna owns two Shih-tzu’s – Harley and Hailey. Kenna is a true Dallasite, she was born and raised in the metroplex. She enjoys classic rock, loves watching sports with her husband and friends, and her favorite season is summer as she hosts an annual crawfish boil and attends local golf tournaments.
“I’m a part of something that started from the ground-up. I’m very thankful to be at the beginning stages of something great! Our culture is completely different than any place I’ve worked before. We are a work family and are truly friends outside of work,” says Kenna of the team at Eighty Three Creative.
Beatriz has a passion for storytelling, the ever-changing digital world, and is fascinated by how brands evolve into new ways of marketing.
She graduated with a multimedia journalism degree from the University of Texas at El Paso and decided to pursue her passion in digital marketing. As an editor and reporter, her work was recognized by the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association for best headline and breaking news package.
She keeps herself busy and cherishes the best advice her first mentor gave her: “Always look for ways to increase and learn new talents, whatever they may be.”
Beatriz loves to stay caffeinated. When you visit her at her desk, you’ll usually see some coffee, water, and a fruit that keeps her energized throughout the day.
Need some conversation starters? Beatriz is from the west Texas town of El Paso. She loves sports, especially FC Dallas, family time, playing with her cats, and cycling around White Rock Lake. She attends The Porch, a young adult gathering that comes together to hear God’s message.
“I love the creative environment and the culture I’m surrounded with. The open-space office plan we have opens the door to a lot of collaboration. I enjoy learning something new everyday, and have fun working on multiple projects,” said Beatriz of working at Eighty Three Creative.
Megan’s got a good eye for color correction and likes the challenge of making a photo stand out and be the best. She has an MA and MFA in photography and was selected for an Artist Residency in Michigan right after finishing school.
She’s inspired by the lesson she learned from her mentor: “If you meet your goals, you’re doing your bare minimum. Always put forth your best effort, aim to blow past your goals, not just to meet them.”
She keeps busy handling daily tasks and challenges that come her way. Three things you’ll see at her desk: headphones, coffee, and a water bottle. These essentials keep her focused, caffeinated, and hydrated!
Need some conversation starters? Megan has a cat named Cameron Frye, listens to indie alternative, and enjoys a good cider on the weekends.
“I think the camaraderie more than anything, is what makes Eighty Three different. Everyone is happy to be here, enjoys their work, and is super friendly. It really makes a difference when everyone has a positive attitude and makes it a great place to be. When it’s positive like that, you actually want to go to work!” she said of Eighty Three Creative.
Have you ever met that one person who is just beaming with creative talent? That’s Dustin. His biggest inspiration and greatest teacher? His Nanny. Whether it’s interior design, graphic design, painting or photography, Dustin loves the entire creative process.
After spending a few minutes with him, you would be shocked to know that he started his career surrounded by horses and team ropers, working as the lead photographer and a designer for a western wear company in North Texas.
Dustin has plenty of work to be proud of in his career. A few of his biggest accomplishments include logo refresh campaigns for a couple of high profile clients, including; Harding University, TeamRoper.com, and even our home base 400 Record.
Need some conversation starters? Dustin recently held his first art show here in Dallas. His Catahoula mix, Olivia (probably the cutest thing you’ve ever seen), doubles as his alarm clock. He loves music and enjoys a good red blend or a vodka press for those evenings on the patio.
“I like Eighty Three because of the people I get to call my coworkers. Everyone brings something creatively different to the team, and they’re just fun people I enjoy working with and grabbing drinks with after work. The scope of work we get to do here is exciting. There is honestly never a dull moment,” Dustin says of working at Eighty Three Creative, Inc.
“It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.” – Leonardo da Vinci
Brand Communications Specialist
Lauren is passionate about understanding people and brands. Her past experiences include working with brands like Pizza Hut, Pepsi, Nokia, and T-Mobile.
She had the opportunity to run a Nokia and T-Mobile national campaign for The Dark Knight Rises movie. Part of the campaign allowed her to attend the movie premier and meet the actors starring in the film (Lucky Lauren!). Her past work also includes doing a voiceover for a Five Star Cleaners radio spot.
The lesson she learned from her first mentor is to keep calm, and find a solution to every problem. If there isn’t’ blood on the floor, then it’s not a crisis or a life-threatening emergency. Present the problem with the solution in many instances.
Her routine? Lauren’s sidekick is her Day Designer. She writes, plans, and keeps her client strategies at hand.
Need some conversation starters? She was born and raised in Oklahoma and now calls Texas her home. She loves to decorate, binge-watch Netflix, spends time with her church community group and loves fall and Christmas.
Lauren doesn’t consider herself a morning person, she used to have about six alarms, but with a new crying baby boy we’re thinking that is the only alarm needed now.
“love the fun family style culture,” says Lauren of working at Eighty Three. “The small close knit group makes for a fun stress-free day at work, no matter what is going on.”
Print Production Specialist
What’s his day-to-day like? Mike facilitates the printing procedures and production of all our marketing materials. He’s very hands-on, so he stays productive throughout the day generally standing on his feet and finalizing jobs.
When he’s not busy printing projects and publications, Mike enjoys spending time seeing and doing new things, as well as walks to the park with his two Neapolitan Mastiffs. He’s also a husband, father of two, and a proud grandfather! Mike is originally from NYC and recently relocated from Orlando, Fla., so moving to Dallas felt like he was back in the big city again.
“It’s not about who has the biggest desk with the corner office or the best view. Everyone listens and are open to opinions and unique ideas in order to produce the best work for our clients,” says Mike of working at Eighty Three Creative.
Assistant Creative Director
Juan is the Assistant Creative Director for Eighty Three Creative, Inc. He started his career in a small in-house graphic design team at Tamco, a lighting manufacturer based out of Florida. His passion for the creative process is when he gets the chance to share ideas and concepts with the team.
Juan gets his daily inspiration by seeing all the creativity that floats around the office. One of his accomplishments includes The Wire, a quarterly magazine publication for our client, City Electric Supply. He manages and designs the layout of the publication that has a circulation of 225,000 copies, and is distributed to 450 branch locations nationwide.
When he’s not busy working on new design concepts for Eighty Three Creative, he loves to cook, and spends his time chasing Chunky, his French Bulldog around Dallas.
“I love Eighty Three! It’s a place for growth, for both clients and for employees, and it’s where the team becomes family – where creativity flows on a daily basis,” says Juan of working at Eighty Three Creative.
Yolanda is the Eighty Three Creative, Inc. Receptionist. She’s always had a knack for client support. In fact, her first job was answering the phone for a manufacturing company at the age of 14. It was there that she learned as the first point of contact, she played a major role in ensuring the client had an outstanding experience and first impression.
Yolanda is passionate about helping people and takes pride in being able to improve someone’s day with a positive and sincere tone. In her free time, you can find her binge-watching Netflix with her husband, spending time with her kiddos, or crafting. Yolanda loves crafting so much that she once started her own online business making and selling her crafts.
Why does she get out of bed in the morning? Well, normally because her 3-year-old daughter is screaming “MOMMA” as loud as she can. But aside from that, she has fun at work and loves the group of people she works with.
“I have never been to a workplace that shoots nerf guns at each other! The relationships everyone has with each other is like no other,” says Yolanda, of working at Eighty Three Creative.
Creativity is what brought us together, culture is what keeps up together.
At Eighty Three Creative we believe that a happy team is the easiest way to ensure happy clients. From Nerf wars to ping pong tournaments and happy hours, we’re always finding new ways to have fun and grow creatively.
