It Takes a Village
At the end of the day, we’re not just a group of creatives — we’re a family. We work together, we play together, and we succeed together.
Ben’s passion for creating functional websites that make peoples’ lives easier began early in life.
A self-proclaimed military brat, Ben was born and raised in Augsburg, Germany, where he started teaching himself the basics of web development and design at the age of 11. His interest persisted through high school and eventually led to him obtaining a bachelor’s in interactive media from the University of Applied Sciences in Augsburg.
His favorite childhood memory is visiting his family every year in Orlando, Florida. During this time, he fell in love with the United States, a fact that would later inspire him to move to Dallas and start a new life.
In his free time, you’ll find Ben fishing, off-roading, or spending time with wife Breanna, and their three children Benjamin, Alessandra, and Annabella.
When asked what he likes most about working at ETC, Ben will tell you, “the team spirit, the atmosphere, the office, the location, the amenities — pretty much everything!”
Megan’s got a good eye for color correction and likes the challenge of making a photo stand out and be the best. She has an MA and MFA in photography and was selected for an Artist Residency in Michigan right after finishing school.
She’s inspired by the lesson she learned from her mentor: “If you meet your goals, you’re doing your bare minimum. Always put forth your best effort, aim to blow past your goals, not just to meet them.”
She keeps busy handling daily tasks and challenges that come her way. Three things you’ll see at her desk: headphones, coffee, and a water bottle. These essentials keep her focused, caffeinated, and hydrated!
Need some conversation starters? Megan has a cat named Cameron Frye, listens to indie alternative, and enjoys a good cider on the weekends.
“I think the camaraderie more than anything, is what makes Eighty Three different. Everyone is happy to be here, enjoys their work, and is super friendly. It really makes a difference when everyone has a positive attitude and makes it a great place to be. When it’s positive like that, you actually want to go to work!” she said of Eighty Three Creative.
Web trafficker, growth hacker, search nerd — these are just a few names for Parker, Eighty Three Creative’s resident SEO Specialist and conspiracy theory enthusiast.
He graduated from Texas A&M University with a communications and journalism degree, where he wrote a feature story in the university publication about bacon (he’s proud of that).
His last job was at an insurance firm where he was responsible for managing content, redesigning their website, and optimizing it for web.
When Parker is not busy geeking out to SEO, you can find him reading, watching Game of Thrones, playing with his Boston terrier Lord Kirby, or wasting the day away on Reddit.
When asked what he loves about working at ETC, Parker said, “the vibe is awesome, the people are dope — they even let me have a gun (Nerf) — and unlike my last job at the insurance agency, no one is dying.”
During his college career, Jesse worked as a bartender. He used the extra cash from tips to purchase engineering and software books, thus laying his path and further fueling his interest in understanding how things work. Consequently, he is also our resident mixologist- cheers!
A bit of an entrepreneur, Jesse has a couple startups under his belt, including Connect2Car, Inc. and Gtrol. He keeps his problem solving skills sharp by continuously learning new things and cherishes the best advice his first mentor gave him: Stay hungry, Stay foolish! He also always stays caffeinated – you’ll never find his desk void of coffee.
Jesse keeps a whiteboard at the foot of his bed for his to-do list, making it the first thing he sees when he wakes up, and the last thing he sees before closing his eyes each night. He takes each day as an opportunity to learn something new.
Need some conversation starters? Jesse is from London and loves to travel. He will soon be adding a German Shephard into his family, he spends a lot of time at the gym, and listens to pretty much any music genre (with the exception of country).
“There isn’t a typical day at Eighty Three, because there’s always something new on your plate. The open-space office plan allows for ease of interaction and collaboration with other employees versus the cubicles I’ve been in at other companies. And the people here are really energetic,” Jesse said of working at Eighty Three.
She graduated with a journalism degree from Baylor University and after a brief stint as a reporter decided to move to the marketing-communications side of things where she cut her teeth in the demanding franchising world.
Her most proud accomplishments include an Addy won for work on her first publication, managing the planning, content collection, and copyediting for 28 internal publications printing in one year, planning the redesign of the company’s intranet, and co-building what came to be the sought after local intern program for journalism/PR majors from Baylor.
Breezing past her desk, you’ll always catch a glimpse of her water bottle, red pen, and an obscene collection of sticky notes, where she houses her to-do list.
Need some conversation starters? Her dogs, horses, donkey, and future chickens. Is it a surprise that she volunteers much of her time with animal rescue and animal welfare organizations?
“Working on a small team means you get to wear a lot of hats. I love not being confined to one creative space or project. It means I constantly get to touch and learn new things, which keeps me energized!” she says of working at Eighty Three.
Assistant Creative Director
Juan is the Assistant Creative Director for Eighty Three Creative, Inc. He started his career in a small in-house graphic design team at Tamco, a lighting manufacturer based out of Florida. His passion for the creative process is when he gets the chance to share ideas and concepts with the team.
Juan gets his daily inspiration by seeing all the creativity that floats around the office. One of his accomplishments includes The Wire, a quarterly magazine publication for our client, City Electric Supply. He manages and designs the layout of the publication that has a circulation of 225,000 copies, and is distributed to 450 branch locations nationwide.
When he’s not busy working on new design concepts for Eighty Three Creative, he loves to cook, and spends his time chasing Chunky, his French Bulldog around Dallas.
“I love Eighty Three! It’s a place for growth, for both clients and for employees, and it’s where the team becomes family – where creativity flows on a daily basis,” says Juan of working at Eighty Three Creative.
Have you ever met that one person who is just beaming with creative talent? That’s Dustin. His biggest inspiration and greatest teacher? His Nanny. Whether it’s interior design, graphic design, painting or photography, Dustin loves the entire creative process.
After spending a few minutes with him, you would be shocked to know that he started his career surrounded by horses and team ropers, working as the lead photographer and a designer for a western wear company in North Texas.
Dustin has plenty of work to be proud of in his career. A few of his biggest accomplishments include logo refresh campaigns for a couple of high profile clients, including; Harding University, TeamRoper.com, and even our home base 400 Record.
Need some conversation starters? Dustin recently held his first art show here in Dallas. His Catahoula mix, Olivia (probably the cutest thing you’ve ever seen), doubles as his alarm clock. He loves music and enjoys a good red blend or a vodka press for those evenings on the patio.
“I like Eighty Three because of the people I get to call my coworkers. Everyone brings something creatively different to the team, and they’re just fun people I enjoy working with and grabbing drinks with after work. The scope of work we get to do here is exciting. There is honestly never a dull moment,” Dustin says of working at Eighty Three Creative, Inc.
“It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.” – Leonardo da Vinci
One of Kenna’s biggest accomplishments is a current project: updating signage for one of our client’s, City Electric Supply, at over 300 branches. From initial site survey, to working with group managers and approving final invoices, there are many steps involved and Kenna takes necessary steps to complete this extensive and ongoing project.
The most important lesson she learned from her mentor is to always be completely honest and transparent. It’s better to be upfront with what is happening. Someone will always appreciate honesty.
Her daily routine? When you swing by her desk, you will usually hear Kenna on the phone helping and directing our clients, you’ll also see a plethora of sticky notes and a Red Bull that gets her through the day.
Need some conversation starters? Kenna owns two Shih-tzu’s – Harley and Hailey. Kenna is a true Dallasite, she was born and raised in the metroplex. She enjoys classic rock, loves watching sports with her husband and friends, and her favorite season is summer as she hosts an annual crawfish boil and attends local golf tournaments.
“I’m a part of something that started from the ground-up. I’m very thankful to be at the beginning stages of something great! Our culture is completely different than any place I’ve worked before. We are a work family and are truly friends outside of work,” says Kenna of the team at Eighty Three Creative.
Creativity is what brought us together, culture is what keeps up together.
At Eighty Three Creative we believe that a happy team is the easiest way to ensure happy clients. From Nerf wars to ping pong tournaments and happy hours, we’re always finding new ways to have fun and grow creatively.
