It Takes a Village
At the end of the day, we’re not just a group of creatives — we’re a family. We work together, we play together, and we succeed together.
Ray had the pleasure of photographing President Bush while he inaugurated the Bush Presidential Library. He’s also had the chance to photograph a brain surgery, and capture the inside of the Texas Instruments clean room facility.
We consider ourselves lucky to have such an experienced photographer here at Eighty Three. Ray’s primary task while at work, is product photography. He enjoys the challenge of staging, lighting, and reflections. Like most artists, he enjoys seeing his work published and knowing it’s on a website thousands will visit.
Need some conversation starters? Ray is from New Jersey; the South Jersey Shore will always hold a special place in his heart. He loves Spring in Dallas, and all the wild colors that begin to bloom. He’s a reader, movie buff, and works out a lot.
“This is a great place to work because it encourages developing creativity. The culture is one of a family, where everyone is ready and willing to help others out, whether it’s learning a skill or assisting in project completion. Some of the most creative minds I have ever had the pleasure to work with are all under the same roof,” Ray says of working at Eighty Three.
Social Media Strategist
When he was 16, Rafa and his family moved from Costa Rica to New Jersey, where he went to school and eventually worked in the event staging industry. During this time, he learned the basics of customer service and how to work with people from all different walks of life. He also learned the benefits of working hard and staying humble, two things he has carried into his position as social strategist for Eighty Three Creative.
Professionally, Rafa is passionate about creating social micro experiences that can potentially make our world a better place. He loves to bring brands’ and businesses’ stories to life and find the best communication vehicles to share them.
In his career, he has had the opportunity to produce events for world leaders, like President Bush and Tony Blair, and celebrities, like Tommy Hilfiger and Carmen Electra. He has also worked with well-known brands in the pharmaceutical, fashion, and entertainment industries.
In his free time, Rafa enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and reading. When asked what his favorite thing about ETC is, he replied, “I love the vibe, the people, and the potential of what we can do together.”
Senior Social Strategist
Beatriz has a passion for storytelling, the ever-changing digital world, and is fascinated by how brands evolve into new ways of marketing.
She graduated with a multimedia journalism degree from the University of Texas at El Paso and decided to pursue her passion in digital marketing. As an editor and reporter, her work was recognized by the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association for best headline and breaking news package.
She keeps herself busy and cherishes the best advice her first mentor gave her: “Always look for ways to increase and learn new talents, whatever they may be.”
Beatriz loves to stay caffeinated. When you visit her at her desk, you’ll usually see some coffee, water, and a fruit that keeps her energized throughout the day.
Need some conversation starters? Beatriz is from the west Texas town of El Paso. She loves sports, especially FC Dallas, family time, playing with her cats, and cycling around White Rock Lake. She attends The Porch, a young adult gathering that comes together to hear God’s message.
“I love the creative environment and the culture I’m surrounded with. The open-space office plan we have opens the door to a lot of collaboration. I enjoy learning something new everyday, and have fun working on multiple projects,” said Beatriz of working at Eighty Three Creative.
Digital Marketing Manager
She graduated with a journalism degree from Baylor University and after a brief stint as a reporter decided to move to the marketing-communications side of things where she cut her teeth in the demanding franchising world.
Her most proud accomplishments include an Addy won for work on her first publication, managing the planning, content collection, and copyediting for 28 internal publications printing in one year, planning the redesign of the company’s intranet, and co-building what came to be the sought after local intern program for journalism/PR majors from Baylor.
Breezing past her desk, you’ll always catch a glimpse of her water bottle, red pen, and an obscene collection of sticky notes, where she houses her to-do list.
Need some conversation starters? Her dogs, horses, donkey, and future chickens. Is it a surprise that she volunteers much of her time with animal rescue and animal welfare organizations?
“Working on a small team means you get to wear a lot of hats. I love not being confined to one creative space or project. It means I constantly get to touch and learn new things, which keeps me energized!” she says of working at Eighty Three.
Michelle is a native Dallasite and is passionate about the usability and interaction between users and a product. An advocate of the idea that form follows function, she likes to research users’ needs and create products that have reason behind the design.
Michelle grew up in the restaurant industry, her first job being a cashier at her parent’s restaurant. She learned a lot about customer service and hospitality from her parents but quickly knew that she did not want to continue the family business. She instead decided to pursue design in high school, a decision that led to her a degree in Communication Design from the University of North Texas.
In her free time, Michelle enjoys Netflix binging, working out, spending time with friends, and going to concerts.
On working at Eighty Three Creative, Michelle said “The building, our floor, and the open-spaced work environment make Eighty Three an amazing place to work. Also, everyone is extremely friendly and encouraging.”
Alaycia is a graphic designer and passionate about finding new ways to make ideas become realities.
Her first job was as a casino hostess when she was 18 years old. Where, standing at 4’11” and asking people 20 years older than her for their ID, she realized that it’s not her size that matters, it’s her voice. From this, she learned to be more outspoken and confident – that as long as you work hard, someone will notice.
If you stop by Alaycia’s desk, you’ll find random pieces of paper with doodles on them, either complete or unfinished. Somewhere among the doodles, you’ll also find a to-do list, a yearly calendar, and her favorite Pantone 012 yellow water bottle.
In her free time, you can find her digitally painting, binging on Netflix/YouTube tutorials, or spending time with her two dogs, Reese and Jase.
When asked what she loves about Eighty Three Creative, Alaycia said, “The overwhelming creativity, the openness to ideas, suggestions, and acceptance. Plus, there’s a ping pong table in the break room!”
Senior UX / UI Designer
Xenia’s favorite part about design work is the final execution of a project and watching customers seamlessly interact with her intuitive design. An interesting and controversial piece she got the chance to work on actually made its way to international news outlets like The Telegraph and BBC.
The most important lessons she learned from her first mentor are that good things don’t happen to those who stay in their comfort zone and always invest in your education.
Her daily routine? Swing by her desk and you’ll catch Xenia designing web prototypes. She always has water on her desk and a loaded Nerf gun ready to fire at whoever interrupts her routine.
When she’s not busy designing the next client website, she likes to paint and spends time with her son and husband.
“Eighty Three is a young and fun company that has a lot of accomplishments and awards that inspire me to push harder. People really care about what they do and it’s not about their ego,” says Xenia of working at Eighty Three Creative.
Jorge is a Studio Photographer for Eighty Three Creative, Inc. At a young age, he picked up a camera and started learning photography. Jorge loves to commit to his work and enjoys overcoming photo challenges that come his way.
Throughout his career, Jorge’s had the opportunity to feature some of his best work at a solo gallery as well as in other gallery exhibits. His work was also featured in magazines, stage plays, marketing materials, DVD movie covers, Dart buses, and websites.
When Jorge is not busy creating unique visual imagery for our clients, he enjoys working on side projects, taking Disney trips with his wife, and watching a good film.
“My creative and career-oriented teammates are what makes a difference here. The work environment is serious but in a fun, relaxed, and creative way,” says Jorge of working at Eighty Three.
Creativity is what brought us together, culture is what keeps up together.
At Eighty Three Creative we believe that a happy team is the easiest way to ensure happy clients. From Nerf wars to ping pong tournaments and happy hours, we’re always finding new ways to have fun and grow creatively.
